FORT BELVOIR, Va. - A former commander of Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s predecessor organization, was nominated for promotion to lieutenant general and assignment as the Army’s deputy chief of staff for logistics.

Army Maj. Gen. Raymond Mason, who served as DSCP commander from 2003-05, said the selection was an honor. In his new position, he will be responsible for coordinating the Army’s logistics integration.

Mason added that he is very proud to have served as part of the DLA Troop Support family, which has a reputation for providing world-class support to service members worldwide.

“Throughout my years of service, I have been blessed to stand in the same ranks with the finest men and women of our nation,” he said. “The magnificent team members at DLA Troop Support are right at the top of that list.”

Mason added that in his new role he is anticipating strengthening the Army relationship with DLA.

“I look forward to deepening our already powerful Army-DLA partnership, with a new opportunity to serve our soldiers [and] military families and support the joint force," Mason said.

Mason currently serves as the Army’s assistant deputy chief of staff for logistics.
