BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – Task Force Poseidon’s dining facility debuted a new name and look during its grand re-opening here, Oct. 28.

The food service specialists from Headquarters Support Company, 122nd Aviation Support Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, TF Poseidon put down knives and cooking spoons to pick up brushes and rollers to refashion and repaint the dining facility once operated by the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade.

“It was a lot of hard work, we’ve left a mark on this building,” said U.S. Army Sgt 1st Class Michael Reid, TF Poseidon dining facility manager, a native of Augusta, Ga. “The soldiers have a sense of pride. Throughout the deployment everyone will enjoy coming here.”

On opening day, people stood in line ready for the Pegasus Inn, formerly Aviation dining facility, to open its doors. For some, it was their first time eating there.

U.S. Army Pvt. Jason Neer, a native of Bend, Ore., was surprised at how good the food was. “Having good food doesn’t make it as hard to be deployed,” he said.

“They’ve done an exceptional job,” said U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Antoine Duchatelier, 122nd ASB command sergeant major. “Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference to a soldier.”

Walking around Pegasus Inn you could hear the patrons commenting on how great the dining facility looked.

“They did an outstanding job!” said U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Larry Farmer, 82nd CAB command sergeant major. “Without a doubt it shows the work ethic of today’s paratrooper.”
