CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – Renee S. Acosta, Global Impact president and CEO, presented Third Army leaders with donation checks from Family Support and Youth Programs as part of the Combined Federal Campaign – Overseas here Nov. 2.

Global Impact is the Department of Defense campaign management organization for the CFC-O. FSYP is one of the many charitable programs offered through CFC-O.

“The contributions made to FSYP helps support services on military installations,” said Acosta. “In the past, the program funded the replacement of treadmills and created a reading room for family members to make videos of themselves reading books to send home to their loved ones.”

Acosta said FSYP assists in various ways with funds such as child care services, emergency assistance, recreational activities and improving facilities on overseas military installations.

Annually, Acosta travels to Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar to meet with senior leaders to present FSYP donation checks. Last year, the FSYP program raised $627,010.

During this visit, Acosta presented checks to several units including U.S. Army Central, Area Support Group-Kuwait and the 335th Signal Command (Theater) (Provisional).

“Acosta has taken time here to talk with troops and share results of contributions made to FSYP over the years,” said Brig. Gen. Kaffia Jones, commanding general of the 335th Signal Command (Theater) (Provisional) and Beaufort, S.C native. “The money that has been contributed is truly an eye opener on how much Soldiers are willing to give under any conditions at anytime.”

Acosta also mentioned this year’s contributions are trending higher than last years.

Through the contributions to CFC-O, Third Army is helping service members, civilian employees and family members enhance the quality of life for living in an overseas military community.
