FORT BRAGG, N.C. - The Fort Bragg Transportation Motor Pool relocated to a new home at the old Maloney Village on the corner of Honeycutt Street and South Lucas Street, Nov. 4.

The organization commenced its movement by transporting buses, sedans and other vehicles from its old location off of Armistead Street to the new location.

“The building is slated to be moved on the night of Nov. 20 to 21,” said William S. Pritchard, project manager, Transportation Motor Pool. “The TMP at this location has been around 20 years, providing non-tactical vehicle service to garrison and other units on Fort Bragg and Pope Army Air Field.”

The TMP provides various vehicle services for the Fort Bragg area. “We manage the sustainable shuttle buses, and provide troop and baggage transport for deploying and redeploying Soldiers,” Pritchard said. “Short-term loaner vehicles, in lieu of renting a vehicle, are provided for up to seven days as available.”

The TMP continued operations Nov. 5 through 6, providing uninterrupted service during the transition.

“The TMP will remain open at both locations during the move,” said Abdul Cole, motor transport officer, Transportation Motor Pool. “However, all operations will transfer to the location, Nov. 7.”

Operations and services for the TMP will not be affected by the move.

Cole said the TMP phone numbers and hours of operation would remain the same.

“The new site will be larger and will allow the TMP room to expand,” Pritchard said.

Operations for the TMP will temporarily be located at Building 6-9241 at the new site until the TMP operations building is transported from its old location to the Honeycutt Street and South Lucas Street site.

Organization vehicle control officers needing further information on the TMP may contact Cole for further information at 396-4602.
