CAMP TAJI, Iraq – Iraqi police and the Soldiers of 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, hosted a media day at the Saab al Bour Iraqi Police Station, north of Baghdad, at approximately 11 a.m. Saturday.
The IPs, along with soldiers from 2nd Tank Brigade, 9th Iraqi Army Division and Multi-National Division – Baghdad's 463rd Military Police Company and Troop B, provided security for the event.
Two Saab al Bour city councilmen, Khalid Rassol Lateef, chairman; Dawod Abdullema, member; and Lt. Col. Dave Thompson, commander, 7th Sqdn., 10th Cav. Regt., greeted the members of the press and presented opening remarks in a short press conference and fielded questions.
The speakers said they felt the city security situation is improving, Iraqi Security Forces and Coalition Forces are actively working together, families are returning to their homes and infrastructure rebuilding and the quality of life in the area is improving.
