HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. - The First Sergeant Council has put together a Diamond Tree to collect gifts for families of Team Holloman.

The Diamond Tree, decorated with special diamond ornaments, represents over 100 children who hope to open a gift for the holiday season.

U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Tamara Kissinger, 49th Communications Squadron first sergeant, who is heading up the project for the FSC, shared her thoughts about the program.

"The holidays are a time of giving and a time for family," she said. "Making sure our military families are taken care of is always a top priority."

The FSC is currently seeking donations for toys, clothes and other gifts. The age, clothing size and gift idea of each child is written on an ornament that is hung on the Diamond Tree.

Donators can give the unwrapped gift, along with the Diamond Tree ornament, to the Exchange customer service desk or to their first sergeant. Individuals who prefer making monetary donations may contact their first sergeant.

Each child is chosen from the military member's supervisor and vetted through their first sergeant. Those who qualify are single income families and junior enlisted.

"[The Diamond Tree] is to help those who may be struggling financially and to ensure that the children of our military members have a good Christmas," said Kissinger.

The donations are being collected at the Exchange until Dec. 16, or when every child has a gift.

For more information on the Diamond Tree program, contact Master Sgt. Tamara Kissinger at 575-572-3062.
