    QALA I NAW, Afghanistan - Today, at 9 a.m. the Spanish Forces in Afghanistan, carried out a military parade for the imposition of the ISAF NATO medal "Non Article 5" to the military people present in the base "Ruy Gonzalez de Clavijo," headquarters of the Spanish Provincial Reconstruction Team in the Afghan province of Badghis.

    The ceremony was chaired by the Chief of Spanish forces in Qala i Naw, Col. Demetrio Muñoz Garcia.

    The military parade began with the hoisting of the Spanish flag while the play of the national hymn and the reciting of the "Spanish Legion spirits." Then it took place the reading of the medal formula and the imposition of the medals. The colonel delivered an emotional speech, mentioning the well done work and encouraged all present there to continue this line of fine effort to the end.

    While the sound of the Spanish Legion hymn "The Groom of The Death," it was discovered a plaque in memory of the 1st Sgt. Joaquin Moya Espejo, dead in combat last November, 2011. The military ceremony ended with a parade of all participating units.
