CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait - Members from "The Idol World Tour" performed at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, June 16, 2012.
Approximately 300 service members, civilians and contractors gathered to see the performance that included hits from several different generations.
“We really appreciate all you do for us, all the sacrifices you make day in and day out,” said Jovany Javier, an "American Idol" top 16 finalist. “This is just a small token of our appreciation.”
"The Idol World Tour" is a collection of past "American Idol" contestants that perform for military fans at 27 installations throughout 12 countries.
The Camp Arifjan show featured "American Idol" contestants: Janelle Authur, season 10; Haley Johnson, season 10; Aaron Marcellus, season 11; Nicholas Boddington, season 11; Jovany Javier, season 10; and Asthon Jones, season 10.
“It’s such a pleasure being here right now performing for all the troops,” said Jones, an "Idol" semifinalist.
Service members and other members of the Camp Arifjan community had the chance to get on stage with some of the "idols" and perform a cover of Justin Bieber’s “Baby.”
“This has definitely been an entertaining time for us as well,” said Johnson.
"The American Idol World Tour" was presented by the Third Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation and Armed Forces Entertainment. The show at Camp Arifjan was the last stop for the tour before heading back to the States.
“Thank you personally to every woman and man in the U.S. military, we appreciate you making us safe at home,” Marcellus said.
