TIKRIT, Iraq -- For Soldiers deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom it's imperative that equipment is maintained and meets all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for mission success.
A United States Army Material Command (AMC) general visited Contingency Operating Base Speicher, Feb. 23, walking through the Forward Repair Activity (FRA), assessing equipment, and speaking with Soldiers.
During the one day visit at COB Speicher, Gen. Benjamin S. Griffin, commanding general, AMC, watched Soldiers from Bravo Company, 209th Aviation Support Battalion, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, repair radios, sheet metal, and other daily operations.
"The visit today gives an opportunity for Gen. Griffin to see what Soldiers are doing everyday," noted Lt. Col. Bill Fisher, from 209th ASB, 25th CAB. "Although Soldiers are getting a visit, they still continue going forward with their missions."
