    507th Engineer Battalion

    CAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan - On July 13,2012, the 14th Engineer Battalion (Task Force Rugged) commanded by LTC John Buck and CSM Douglas Padgett, transferred command authority of route clearance operations in Regional Command-Southwest and Regional Command-West, Afghanistan to the 507th Engineer Battalion (Task Force Warhammer) commanded by LTC William Myer and CSM Darrell Wagner. TF Rugged cleared over 700 IEDs during their 12-month deployment with numerous soldiers being awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the Combat Action Badge.

    The July 13, 2012 Transfer of Authority Ceremony culminated the “battle handoff” between Task Force Rugged and the 900(+) Task Force Warhammer soldiers.
