    Minneapolis, Minn. – Afghanistan Veteran wounded in action will be recognized by the Minnesota Vikings Friday before the Vikings, Bills game.

    On Friday, Aug. 17 The Minnesota Vikings will welcome a Warrior injured in action while serving in Afghanistan.

    On July 23, 2011, Staff Sgt. Richard J. Billmeyer was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart, and in addition he received a Bronze Star Medal with a ā€œVā€ Device for his actions after being wounded. Despite being wounded, Staff Sgt. Billmeyer took charge of his soldiers and directed action against the enemy.

    Staff Sgt. Billmeyer will be recognized at the beginning of the Minnesota Vikings Vs. the Buffalo Bills at 7:00 PM.
