CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – The 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, will receive a new commanding officer during a change of command ceremony here, Thursday, Sept. 6.
Lieutenant Col. Kevin A. Norton will relinquish command of 1st Bn., 4th Marines to Maj. Christopher J. Bronzi.
Norton is a native of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He has served in the Marine Corps since January of 1990.
His awards include the Bronze Star with combat distinguishing device and bronze star, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon with a gold star.
Bronzi, a native of Poughquag, N.Y., and a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, was commissioned in 1996.
His awards include the Silver Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with a gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
