“This is very beneficial. The units, state and NGB will be looking at the same exact data”, said Michael Langston, NGB’s DPRO trainer.
The DPRO application will provide commanders and their staff with an additional tool to evaluate their units the same way NGB will evaluate them. The system will indicate which areas the organization must sustain or improve upon.
“This way the unit will be ready not only with strength, but also ready to deploy, and that’s what this application is all about,” said Langston.
In addition to the trainer, students also discussed the benefits of having the new software.
“It’s a very interesting system,” said Maj. Jose Velazquez, battalion executive officer for the 130th Engineer Battalion.
DPRO is a tool designed to maintain visibility of its personnel readiness at unit, battalion, brigade and major commands throughout the system, and it provides the most up-to-date information in personnel status and their availability.
“You can find information that I didn’t even know existed. I encourage anyone who might have the opportunity to take this training to take it. It will be beneficial in today’s interactive Army,” said Velazquez.
