PAKTIKA PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Under Secretary of the Army Joseph W. Westphal and Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III, Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, visited troops on Forward Operating Base Sharana, Afghanistan, the deployed home of the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Nov. 21. During their visit, Westphal awarded Pfc. Ashley M. Beltinck with the Combat Medic Badge for providing medical care under fire.
