I’m Master Sergeant Tomas Ramirez. I became a USAF photographer in 2003, since then it has been a challenge every day to get better behind the lens. I retired in 2012 but made it back in 2016 in the communication branch, but everyone in my unit recognized me as the photographer and because of that I can't escape from the PA duties (not bad at all). Now I’m tasked at Ft. Buchanan, Puerto Rico, working with the Army National Guard attached to Joint Task Force-Puerto Rico as their photographer/PA. Right now I'm in my 28 years of military service, some new airmen in the PA world at home call me "the godfather"
I know there are better photographers, writers, and videographers but I still enjoy every moment I hang my camera over my head!
I never thought that becoming a photographer will be the best military job ever.
