Stephen Wright enlisted in the Army in 2007, honorably serving over 15 years of reserve and active service. A graduate of the prestigious Defense Information School and a decorated Operation Enduring Freedom Combat Veteran (Afghanistan 2013), he excels in functional areas such as information operations, marketing, photography and public affairs.
Wright served at the National Guard Bureau’s National Marksmanship Training Center as a Public Affairs Officer and as the Public Affairs Section Chief, while also shooting on the National Guard’s International Combat Competition Shooting Team. He has also served as a Brigade Public Affairs Officer in several military Major Commands, the Visual Information Campaign Leader for the National Guard’s Recruiting and Retention team and several other positions. He studied Applied Communications and Political Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Stephen is the Senior Instructor for Unmanned Systems, teaching photo acquisition, editing and imagery production / release at Sea Air Land Technologies. He is an FAA Part 107 certified pilot.
Well versed in national and international governmental affairs, he has been recognized for his work in photography and videography by NASA and Citizen Soldier Magazine. His products, video and photo, have been published by numerous agencies and organizations such as ABC News, NBC, The Weather Channel, The Discovery Channel, Stars and Stripes, Military Times and many more.
Producing commercials, PSAs, posters and billboards for the military were strong suits of Stephen; however, he loves landscape, horizon and sunset photography most.
A former United States Senate staffer, Stephen possesses an extensive knowledge base in irregular warfare, information operations, public relations and legislative affairs. He continues his public service by serving as the National Aide-de-Camp to the Commander-in-Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. He is the Commander for the Fort Smith VFW Post and also serves as the Judge Advocate for Arkansas' 7th VFW District.
Stephen continues to serve the public through his work in the External Affairs Division, Region 6 of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
