Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Amanda Gray is a native of Vail, Colorado. She graduated from Colorado University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Writing.
She joined the Navy in 2010 and has served at Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 10, Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 3,Navy Public Affairs Support Element West, and as assistant public affairs officer at Commander, Submarine Group 9. She has deployed aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5), the amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42), amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47), and the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Stout (DDG 55).
Her awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards) and the Good Conduct Medal (two awards).
