MC1 (SW/AW) Ramon Paolo Peredo Bayas was born in Manila, Philippines. He immigrated to Los Angeles County, California, in February 1997 and graduated from Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo High School in 2006. He attended Basic Training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, June 2012, and is slated to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College, June 2018.
During his tenure, MC1 Bayas has published more than 283 photographs and 92 stories that cover numerous topics on news outlets to include Naval Aviation’s initial release to address Physiological Episodes, the front cover of Sea Power Magazine and Japan’s Koku-Fan Aviation Magazine and a Naval Aviation News Magazine photo spread and 7 feature photos from Operation Damayan HADR and orchestrated the execution of what became the U.S. Navy’s #1 Photo for 2014, which has shared the strategic maritime mission of forward-deployed naval forces to a worldwide audience.
