    Private First Class Danny Gonzalez began basic training at MCRD San Diego April 2015 and graduated July 2015. After graduating MCT Aug. 2015, Pfc. Gonzalez attended BSP at DINFOS, Fort George G. Meade, Md., and graduated Feb. 2016 as an honor graduate. Pfc. Gonzalez was promoted to Lance Corporal on Jan. 1, 2016. Lance Cpl. Gonzalez reported to 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, Calif. as a combat photographer. His primary duties consisted of documenting training and increasing MOS proficiency. In April 2017, Lance Cpl. Gonzalez received orders to the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit as the organic photographer. In Sept. 2017, Lance Cpl. Gonzalez attended the Intermediate Photojournalism Course at DINFOS and graduated Nov. 2017. Lance Cpl. Gonzalez was promoted to Corporal on Nov. 1, 2017. In April 2018, Cpl. Gonzalez received orders to I Marine Information Group before deploying with the 13th MEU. On July 10, 2018, he deployed for West Pac 18-1 on the USS Rushmore (LSD-47), participating in four bilateral exercises in the 5th and 7th fleet area of operations until returning on Feb. 27, 2019. On May 2019, Cpl. Gonzalez was accepted into the Newhouse S.I. Military Photojournalism program and graduated from Syracuse University with a 3.5 GPA on May 2020. He was promoted to Sergeant on Aug. 1, 2019. He reported July 2020 to 31st MEU in Okinawa, JP as the organic photographer and NCOIC. While at the MEU, he deployed on four patrols throughout INDOPACOM. He was frocked to his current rank of SSgt. on Nov. 18, 2022. On Nov. 18, SSgt. Gonzalez reported to 3d MLG as SNCOIC, participating in BALIKATAN 23 and overseeing a variety of exercises in the Indo-Pacific in support of 3d MLG COMMSTRAT. On June 13, 2023, SSgt. Gonzalez completed PACSQC and reported to DMA as Productions Chief. His personal awards include a NAM, NAVCOMM, third award Good Conduct, and fourth award GWOTE. His education includes two Associate's degrees in Music/Humanities and Journalism as well as attending the 2017 and 2018 DoD Storyteller's Workshop under the advanced photography team and video team, respectively. In 2023, he attended the 36th Eddie Adams Workshop, earning the Canon Award for best photo presentation. He mentored a small team for the 2024 DC Video ShootOff. He was awarded DVIDS Storyteller of the Month for Sept. and Oct. 2018 and has placed in the 2017, 2018, and 2022 VIEC Awards and 2019 Military Visual Awards.
