Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class (SW) Robert S. Price is a native of Bucyrus, Ohio. He graduated high school in 2005. Price attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh to study Digital Media Production and enlisted in the Navy’s Delayed Entry Program in 2012.
Price reported to basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Dec. 5, 2012. He attended Mass Communication Specialist "A" School at the Defense Information School (DINFOS) in Fort George G. Meade, Md. Upon graduation from "A" school, he reported to Navy Public Affairs Support Element East Detachment Europe in Naples, Italy to provide expeditionary public affairs in support of U.S. 6th Fleet component commanders.
While stationed at his first duty station, Price earned three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals while forward deployed aboard USS Porter (DDG-78), USS Ross (DDG-71), and additionally for involvement in the April 7, 2017 Tomahawk Missile Strike on Al Shayrat Airbase, Syria. Price also received a Flag Letter of Commendation for designing the Region Legal Service Office Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia (RLSO EURAFSWA) command logo for use in 5 host nations.
Price returned to DINFOS in June 2017 where he completed the Intermediate Videography Course. He is currently stationed at the American Forces Network-Sasebo where he serves as the Social Media Manager and Command Fitness Leader.
His awards and decorations include the Good Conduct Medal (2 awards), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon (4 awards), and various other service awards.
