Staff Sgt. Caleb Pavao is a Pubic Affairs Specialist assigned to the 1st Special Operations Wing Public Affairs Office at Hurlburt Field, Florida. Staff Sgt. Pavao entered the Air Force May 4, 2016. After completion of Basic Military Training, he entered the Basic Combat Correspondent Course at the Defense Information School, Fort George G. Meade, Md. He completed the course November 23, 2016 and was assigned to the 1st Special Operations Wing Public Affairs office at Hurlburt Field.
Staff Sgt. Pavao was loaned to the 492d Special Operations Wing from August of 2019 to October of 2020. He returned to the 1st Special Operations Wing on October 22, 2020. After returning to the 1 SOW, he deployed to Prince Sultan Air Base on April 4, 2021 where he was assigned to the 378th Air Expeditionary Wing. He returned to Hurlburt Field on Nov. 24, 2021 where he resumed his assignment with the 1 SOW.
Staff Sgt. Pavao’s duties include community and media engagement, crisis communication, social media and website management, and creation of multimedia products including videos, photos and news articles to share the Air Force story with internal and external audiences. Staff Sgt. Pavao was born in Sacramento, California and raised in Selmer, Tennessee.
