Liz's life-long passion for photography began when, at age 15, her father purchased her a 35mm Pentax ME Super so she could complete a Photojournalism 101 class. This lead to her being accepted to New York University where she majored in Photography and Imaging. Afterwards, she freelanced as an assistant photographer in New York City before becoming the Photo Editor for the Interactive Department of The Travel Channel. After several years in this position, she transitioned back into being a freelancer before becoming the Official Photographer for Arlington National Cemetery. In this role, she has photographed hundreds of funerals and wreath-layings, as well as captured visits from notable military veterans, foreign heads of state, and five different U.S. presidents. Her photographic style is heavily influenced by her favorite photographers: Sebastião Salgado, Dorothea Lange and Robert Frank.
