Technical Sgt. Wynndermere Shaw is a Public Affairs craftsman at the 182nd Airlift Wing, Greater Peoria Air National Guard Base, Peoria, Illinois. She is a subject matter expert in photography and journalism who plans, organizes, coordinates and conducts documentation, command information, community engagement and media operations activities.
Tech. Sgt. Shaw joined the U.S. Air Force when she enlisted in the Illinois Air National Guard’s 182nd Airlift Wing Public Affairs section in July 2017. She graduated from the Defense Information School in March 2019 and immediately began contributing to public affairs operations at the wing level. Additionally, Tech. Sgt. Shaw serves as an intelligence specialist with the Illinois National Guard Counterdrug Program, where she assists a variety of municipal, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in the reduction of narcotics in local communities.
Tech. Sgt. Shaw’s award-winning multimedia work has been featured with National Review magazine, Air & Space Forces Magazine, SOFREP, and FEMA.gov . She is a recipient awards including of the National Guard’s Bureau’s first place portrait, first place news photo, and first place commentary awards. Prior to her current position, the technical sergeant was a photojournalism journeyman with the 182nd Airlift Wing, Greater Peoria Air National Guard Base, Peoria, Illinois.
