Nathan T. Beard was born in Upper Hayford, England, and grew up in Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal. Upon graduating from high school, he attended Northwest Technical College and earned a Print Technologies Certificate in 2014. He entered the U.S. Navy in November of 2014 and graduated from RTC in January of 2015. He attended and graduated from Mass Communication Specialist A-School in August of 2015 and Broadcasting Communications Course C-school in December 2015. He reported to USS Dwight D. Eisenhower in December of 2015 and deployed in June 2016 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve where he was promoted to Petty Officer 3rd Class and earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist pins. He is currently stationed at Mayport Naval Station working for Navy Public Affairs Support Element Detachment Southeast.
Petty Officer Beard’s awards include; 2016 Defense Media Award 1st Place Operational Documentation (Photo), 2016 Navy Media Award 2nd Place Operational Documentation (Photo), 2017 Navy Media Award 1st Place Operational Documentation (Video), 2017 Defense Media Award 2nd Place Operational Documentation (Video), 2016 Syracuse Fall Workshop Perseverance Award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
