Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Michael Doan, a native of Schofield, Wisconsin, enlisted in the Navy in January 2014. Following the completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Fort Meade, Maryland, completing Mass Communication Specialist “A” School training, graduating in October.
Doan’s first assignment was at the submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39), homeported in Guam.
Doan is currently stationed at Naval Air Facility Atsugi, Japan. His is designated as an enlisted surface warfare specialist.
