Sgt. Charlie Duke began her Army career in July 2021. She successfully completed the Mass Communications Foundations Course at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, graduating in April 2022.
She was stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, where she spent a little over two years assigned to the 24th Theater Public Affairs Support Element. During her time with TPASE, she played a key role in communicating military operations to diverse audiences, refining her expertise in journalism, media relations, and strategic storytelling.
In the summer of 2023, Sgt. Duke deployed to Australia in support of Operation Talisman Sabre, an international training exercise involving military forces from around the world. She provided critical coverage of large-scale operations, showcasing the collaboration and readiness of allied forces.
In the spring of 2024, she participated in Project Convergence, a cutting-edge initiative aimed at integrating new technologies and enhancing joint force capabilities. Her work helped highlight advancements in military communication and operational effectiveness within this complex, multi-domain experiment.
Her dedication to visual storytelling earned her third place in photography for U.S. Army Forces Command in the 2023 Keith L. Ware Awards. For this achievement, she was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
Currently, Sgt. Duke serves with the Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, where she continues her commitment to effective storytelling and public affairs, ensuring the Army’s mission and achievements are communicated with clarity and impact.
