My name is Sgt. Christian Aquino. I am a Visual Information Specialist (46V). I am currently a Squad Leader for the Viper Team (Combat Camera) at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) in Hohenfels, Germany. I was born in Honolulu, HI and raised in Las Vegas, NV.
I enlisted into the U.S. Army in 2018 as a Diver (12D) and completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonardwood, MO. I failed to complete the Advanced Individual Training for the 12D MOS and was re-classed according to the needs of the Army, which was a Stryker Systems Maintainer (91S).
After completing 91S AIT in 2019 at Fort Lee, I was assigned to the 2nd Cavalry Regiment (2CR) in Vilseck, Germany. During my time at 2CR, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. I purchased a small camera after the lockdown. I started traveling and taking pictures of any and everything with my Sony a5100. I PCS'd (permanent change of station) from Vilseck to Fort Carson, CO in 2021.
I re-enlisted at Fort Carson in 2022 to change my MOS into 25V (which became 46V shortly after) and attended the Defense Information School. I then PCS'd to Hohenfels, Germany upon completion.
During my time at the JMRC, I have won and placed in multiple contests, supported training and exercises translating into real world scenarios (KFOR, Operation Trident Ready), and competed in the 2024 Specialist Hilda I. Clayton Best Combat Camera Competition.
