Spc. Jason Klaer was born in Oak Lawn, Ill., on Jan. 28, 1994. Klaer graduated from Illinois State University in Dec. 2016 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism, with a News and Editorial concentration. Klaer earned a minor in political science.
Upon graduation, Klaer was employed as a Marketing and Promotions Coordinator with CBS Radio Chicago. Klaer worked closely with listeners of the stations, as well as corporate partners. Klaer also ensured show guests were at the right place at the right time.
Klaer then moved to South Bend, Ind., becoming a producer for ABC's affiliate. Klaer was responsible for churning around-the-clock news content at ABC 57 News. Klaer also assigned stories to reporters.
Currently, Klaer is assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, at Fort Carson, Colo. Klaer is a Public Affairs Mass Communication Specialist who recently returned from rotation with the 4th Inf. Div.
From Jan. 2023 through Aug. 2023, Klaer collected content while demonstrating U.S. Army Public Affairs prowess. Klaer worked closely with NATO Allies and multinational training partners in order to tell the Army story.
At this time, Klaer is pursuing a Master of Science in Sport Management from American Military University.
