    55th Public Affairs Company (Combat Camera) | 732-619-8843 | gianna.m.chiavarone.mil@army.mil SGT Gianna Chiavarone is 23 years old and is from East Brunswick, New Jersey. She enlisted into the United States Army in August of 2019 as a Correctional Specialist, also known as a 31E. She completed both Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After SGT Chiavarone graduated she was assigned to her first duty station of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas in April of 2020 and served at the 15th MP Brigade. During her time there she worked at the Midwestern Joint Regional Correctional Facility. Her primary duties were care, custody and control of approximately 250 inmates. Her different positions included General Population, Special Housing Unit, Escort Correctional Specialist, Textiles NCO, Academics NCO, and Agriculture NCO. She served as a team leader for four soldiers and her additional duty was an Unarmed Self Defense Instructor. SGT Chiavarone assisted in training Soldiers on different combatives techniques to protect themselves while working in a high stress environment. She reenlisted in June 2022 to reclass to a Visual Information Specialist, also known as 46v. SGT Chiavarone reported to 55th Signal Company, Fort Meade, Maryland, in January, 2023. She served as a squad leader for five Soldiers. She then arrived at the Defense Information School in March, 2023 and completed Advanced Individual Training. Sgt. Gianna Chiavarone reported back to 55th Signal Company in December, 2023. She currently serves as a squad leader for 3 soldiers and retention NCO. In February 2024, SGT Chiavarone supported Project Convergence Capstone 4 in Camp Pendleton and Fort Irwin. She is currently deployed to Bahrain to support 5th Fleet Operations under NAVCENT Public Affairs. She is also preparing for the United States Drill Sergeant Academy as she is slotted to attend in April 2025. Her short-term goals include scoring a 540 or higher on her ACFT, receiving Distinguished Honor Grad at the Advanced Leader Course, and completing her next two college classes with an A to earn her Bachelors in Communications from University of Maryland Global Campus. Her long-term goals include receiving her master’s degree in Communications and being a brigade SARC.
