PFC Richard Ortiz was born and raised in Salina, KS. He graduated from Abilene High School in may 2023.
PFC Ortiz enlisted in the United States Army as a 46S (Mass Communication Specialist) in December 2023. He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC in March 2024. Later, attending the Mass Communications Foundation Course at Advanced Individual Training at Fort George G. Meade, MD. Completed the course in July 2024 at the Defense Information School (DINFOS).
PFC Ortiz is currently assigned to the 40th Public Affairs Detachment. A FORSCOM asset who is attached to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) which is his first duty station. PFC Ortiz has been on numerous missions from best ranger, best combatives, Pre-ranger, Air Assault operations, CBRN operations and more.
PFC Ortiz has already completed Air Assault school his other short term goals of Airborne School, and ESB (Expert Soldier badge). PFC Ortiz has long term goals of 20 years of service, Fast Track Promotions, and Path Finder School.
