May 23 saw Soldiers competing in the U.S. Army Sustainment Command’s Best Warrior Competition at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, giving it their all in a variety of tests. At “O dark thirty” the four participants were graded in an Army Physical Fitness Test whose scores were calculated in the 17-21 year-old category. The next event had the Soldiers demonstrating their firing proficiency using an M-16A2 rifle from a variety of positions and targets. From there they tested on Warrior tasks and battle drills in mock-up village that simulated somewhere in Southwest Asia. Then it was onto the Reconfigurable Vehicle Tactical Trainer where competitors were tested on their skills as a troop commander. With overcast skies threatening rain, it wasn’t until the Confidence Course that Mother Nature had her way in mid-afternoon. Despite unfavorable weather conditions, the Soldiers jumped, climbed, pulled and ran their way through the course. Stay connected to ASC’s Facebook page for more coverage.
