KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. — Ensuring readiness to protect lives and critical assets remains a top priority for the Kirtland Air Force Base Fire Emergency Services team. Col. Michael Power, 377th Air Base Wing commander and installation commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Antonio Cooper, 377 Air Base Wing command chief, witnessed this dedication firsthand during a recent visit to the department.
Kirtland’s 377th Test and Evaluation Group tested an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) at 1 a.m. Pacific Time February 19. These launches ensure the operational effectiveness of the cornerstone of U.S. national security -- strategic deterrence.
The spirit of the season was alive and well on Dec. 20, as Kirtland Air Force Base hosted its annual Operation Cookie Drop. This beloved tradition brings the community together to package and deliver cookies to Airmen living in the dorms, providing a sweet taste of home for those unable to travel during the holidays.
