The Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Christopher W. Grady visits Vicenza Middle School on December 10, 2024 in Vicenza, Italy. Students were challenged to complete a STEM Challenge to conduct a tower capable of holding a 450 g can of soup using minimal resources. The event focuses on family readiness and to raise espirit de corp.
On July 14, 2021, Staff Sgt. Tyrrel, a Special Forces Medical Sergeant of Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), was awarded the Soldier's Medal, by Major General John W. Brennan, Commanding General, 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne), during a ceremony at the Deeks Language Lab for saving the life of a severely injured drowning woman.
