Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be observed on Jan. 20, 2025, and in this video U.S. service members speak on the topic of the federal holiday. King was born Jan. 15, 1929, and was assassinated April 4, 1968. He was an American Baptist minister, activist, political philosopher, and chief spokesperson for nonviolent activism in the civil rights movement advancing civil rights for people of color in the United States through nonviolent resistance.
