TUSCANY, Italy – To conclude the day trip, a short-distance excursion from the winery brought the group to visit Monteriggioni, a town founded at the beginning of the 13th century by the Republic of Siena with a defense system consisting of 500-meter-long circular walls, 14 square-based towers and two main gates.
