22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit Marines board the USNS Robert E. Peary via fast rope from an MH-60S Seahawk with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 28 during an enhanced vessel board, search and seizure exercise. Marines conduct VBSS training operations before certification during the deployment to enhance mission capabilities. The Marines and Sailors of the 22nd MEU are currently deployed with Amphibious Ready Group and will continue to train and improve the MEU's ability to operate as a cohesive and effective Marine Air Ground Task Force.
