B-roll of day two of the Air Force Academy's class of 2015's four year journey. Jon Zanone has more. The first day of training for the class of twenty fifteen started with a bang. Basic cadets were treated to an abrupt end to their slumber at zero four thirty - a part of the morning most of these new cadets never even new existed. Basic cadets were led to the Academy's Terrazzo to begin their first lessons of the day - marching. a quick but nourishing breakfast was punctuated by instruction on how a basic cadet is expected to eat. The class of twenty fifteen then formed up to take the oath of allegiance. For parents gathered beneath the iconic spires of the academy chapel, seeing their children become a cadet was an emotional event. As Parents and well-wishers lingered trying to get a glimpse of their child, the class of twenty fifteen continued a four year, journey - a journey that will turn them into leaders for the Air Force and nation - one day at a time. The United States Air Force Academy, the class of 2015 will go through six weeks of basic training before starting classes in August. Sound bites include Brig. Gen. Richard Clark - Commandant of Cadets, Veronica Jones from Atlanta, Ga. and David Grob from Lake Forest, Ill. Produced by Jon Zanone. Also available in High Definition.
