The Nebraska Air National Guard co-hosted the Guardians of Freedom Air Show on Sept. 10 and 11, an event which takes place every five years in Lincoln. This year's event commemorated the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, as well as the 65th anniversary of the Nebraska Air National Guard. The Blue Angels headlined the event and were joined by a number of new acts, including the U.S. Air Force Academy Wings of Blue Parachute Team, a demonstration with pyrotechnics from the U.S. Air Force A-10C Demonstration Team and a jet-powered school bus that can reach speeds of up to 300 mph. More than 200,000 visitors showed their support at the show. Story by AIC Bristol Prai.
