The National Guard uses the State Partnership Program as a tool to allow units to interact with both active and reserve forces of foreign countries. The program supports Military-to-Military contacts and its activities are aimed at building relationships and promoting defense and security-related cooperation. The Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies recognized the National Guard for its State Partnership Program accomplishments in the Western Hemisphere at an awards banquet. Gen. Craig McKinley, Chief of the National Guard Bureau, accepted an award on behalf of all 54 U.S. states and territories. Story by Master Sgt. Megan Hunter.
