Brigadier General Carter Ham, Commanding General, Task Force Olympia, tells host Bill Hemmer that the Iraqi government had control of Mosul on the toughest day of fighting on Nov 11. They faced pockets of resistance and the insurgents never held police stations for a long period of time. Says the city is mostly calm now with little fighting, with the level of intensity and frequency of fighting dropping during the week. BG Ham describes the differences between Mosul and Fallujah, saying there is less tolerance for insurgents in Mosul. He refutes a report that Kurdish militia were brought to Mosul, saying they were Iraqi National Guard forces, some from the Kurdish area. Video from 139th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment.
