Thomas Bazemore, a platoon leader with the 95th Sapper Company, 14th Engineer Battalion, out of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, a native of Leavenworth, Kan., talks about receiving the Purple Heart medal on Christmas Day at Camp Leatherneck, Helmand province. Bazemore was wounded when his armored vehicle struck an Improvised Explosive Device. His unit's job is to clear roadside bombs from routes in Helmand province. Produced by Marine Staff Sgt.
