    Ssgt Marc Lane Reporting:
Soldiers With The 4-90th Civil Affairs Battalion, Assigned To Combined Joint Task Force – Horn Of Africa, Joined The Villagers And Assisted With The Construction By Sharing Various Building Techniques, As Well As Helping With The Work Load.
U.S. Army Captain Justin Lev, 4902 Civil Affairs Team Chief:
“The Mission Is Really To Bring The Community Together, Give Them A Sense Of Ownership In This Area. It’s Been A Great Opportunity To Work Side-By-Side With The Villagers. Just Things As Simple As Shoveling Dirt Into The L-M-T-V Breaks Through So Many Cultural Barriers. I Don’t Know Their Language--I Know A Few Words But We’ve Developed Friendships. We’ve Broken Through A Language Barrier Just By Working Side-By-Side With Each Other.”

The Materials Needed To Build The Eco-Dome Were Donated By Non-Government Organizations. The Village Is Supplying Most Of The Manpower On The Eco-Dome With The Civil Affairs Team Providing Guidance, Assistance And Friendship.

“Teaching You Something Is Better Than Giving You Money. This Is Actually For The Village, Something Unforgettable. People Get To Know Each Other First And Then Start To Work Together, And They Become Family.”

Once Completed, This Eco-Dome Will Serve As A Model For Future Domes Throughout The Horn Of Africa
