Lt. Col. James "Jim" Routt the oldest active duty pilot in the U.S. Air Force flies one of his last missions in Afghanistan. Lt. Col. Routt is currently deployed as a pilot for the 76th ERQS at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. Lt. Col. Routt is currently stationed at Kirkland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, NM.
The 76th ERQS is designed to rapidly mobilize, deploy, and execute CSAR operations worldwide in support of national security interests. During this deployment the 71st RQS Moody Air Force Base, GA., has joined teams with medical teams from National Guard units and Active Duty units across the U.S. to transport critical care patients from remote locations to larger operating bases with established medical facilities.
