Aircrew Survival Equipmentmen from helicopter antisubmarine squadron 10 have an important job. (Aircrew Survival Equipmentman 3rd Class Sophia Hunt): Pretty much what we do, we are here to save lives. We handle their survival vest, SAR equipment, basically anything you can think of if the aircraft goes down we are their next option. It’s very important for our gear to work and if not….it’s a bad day. (Naval Air Crewman 3rd Class Jerry Borkowski): They have all my equipment, all my gear; my search and rescue gear everything. They take care of it and make sure everything works properly. You never want to have that day where we let them go out and we get that call that they cant make it back or they didn’t make it back. Yes, so it is very rewarding. Makes you proud of what you do. Reporting from San Diego, I’m Seaman Carla Ocampo. Available in high definition.
