Twenty-two soldiers made their way to fort Indiantown gap, Pennsylvania recently to compete for a spot on the men's All-Army basketball team.
Major David Smith, who has been the team's head coach for the past four years, received more than three hundred applications this year from active duty, National Guard and Reserve soldiers.
After three weeks of intense tryouts at the Blue Mountain sports complex, the pool of applicants will be narrowed down even further, with only the top twelve soldiers being named to the final team roster.
Those selected will go on to compete at the armed forces basketball championship tournament at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland next month.
And that's your Minuteman Report.
