Nellis Air Force Base opened its doors to the Las Vegas community during Aviation Nation 2012. The free two day event celebrates 71 years of air power with a large array of events ranging from aerial performances, static displays, and other surprises. Visitors of all ages enjoyed seeing some of their favorite exhibits.

I think the favorite part on the show has been the huge air cargo ships that I get to see. You know you only see them in the movies.
Some of the other activities included a Naturalization ceremony, aerial jumps with the 820th RED HORSE Civil Engineering Airborne Division, a special Heritage flight, and a performance by Nellis' own Thunderbirds. Though Aviation Nation only lasted for a short while, many were thankful to have the opportunity to visit Nellis and take part in the festivities.
