The National Guard Association of the United States or NGAUS opened the 9-11 Era Gallery, as part of the National Guard Memorial Museum. The gallery showcases the mission and role of the National Guard and how it has changed since the events of Sept. 11, 2001. A highlight of the gallery is the wall of the fallen, remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. Many milestones such as the Chief, National Guard Bureau getting a fourth star and becoming a member of the joint chiefs of staff, along with the State Partnership Program are also represented.
