Pvt. Trevor Vanater, from Modesto, Calif., discusses his experience as a high school student at the National Guard Patriot Academy at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Complex in Butlerville, Ind. Vanater is a graduate of the last class of the Patriot Academy which began as a pilot program in 2009 to offer a second chance to new recruits to earn their high school diplomas and serve their country. The program will close its doors and case its organizational colors in January, 2013. Vanater is a member of the California Army National Guard. Available in High Definition.
