One of the deadliest days in the history of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM involved the downing by enemy fire of a CH-47 Chinook helicopter and the deaths of 30 American service members, including 19 members of Seal Team 6 along with seven Afghan Special Operators on August 6, 2011.
