Navy Korean War Veteran Gerald Canaan arrived at the same POW camp where Chaplain (CPT) Emil Kapaun was sent. Though he arrived after the chaplain's passing, Canaan immediately heard of CH Kapaun's inspiring acts. Canaan's wife Ruth attended the 12 April 2013 Medal of Honor ceremony at the Pentagon and shared her husband's story.
